An early pontiled Lynch & Clarke New York mineral water bottle from the 1830s..... LYNCH & CLARKE NEW YORK boldly emb on front..... Crude drippy applied tapered collar with ring.... Shiny nice but has a hard to see bruise on the inside surface of lip with a tiny nick on top of lip; no other damage.
A shiny clean bottle with no haze..... This is an early example and is a great looking bottle with bold crisp embossing and nice glass! Lynch & Clarke were bottling mineral water by 1825. They owned the Congress Spring in Saratoga, Ny. Lynch died in 1833, but Clarke continued in the mineral water bottling business for many more years as Clarke & Co.
