JOHN CLARKE NEW YORK (bold emb on front).... Applied tapered lip with ring..... Good condition with only a shallow bruise on top inside surface of lip; a small shallow chip on top of lip & a small thin shallow flake on very bottom; no other damage. A small lightly scuffed spot.
John Clarke began bottling mineral water in 1825 with a partner named Thomas Lynch. Their first bottles were embossed LYNCH & CLARKE until Lynch died in 1833.
After 1833 the bottles were only embossed JOHN CLARKE NEW YORK..... This is one of those early blackglass mineral water bottles from that period. Unless you contact me first. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your business....
