A Very Rare Bitters! Constitutional Beverage (bitters)w. Olmsted & Co. New York
WELCOME and thanks for stopping by. I'm already regretting having to sell this one off, but someone's got to keep the lights burning and so here's a bottle that should keep the electricity ON for a little while. ; So just to be informative in case you're not aware of this, FYI... Even though this bottle doesn't have the word BITTERS embossed on it, it's cataloged in BITTERS BOTTLES by Carolyn Ring and Bill Ham as being a labeled bitters. Also, I should let you know that the color of this text really isn't the perfect color to give you an accurate representation to the color of the glass; but it's pretty much the closest one I could see among the many color choices. So I just went with it since I couldn't find anything better. I'd call this one a light golden honey yellow topaz and it's an extremely scarce color and definitely not the most common color that you'll find this bottle in.

When you're ABLE to find one that is. This bottle has a LOT of yellow in it, is VERY rare, and seldom comes up for sale. There's an interesting and informative posting on the peachridge glass web site and if you do a simple internet search for.....

The labeled Constitutional Beverage Bitters? It should come right up. Wait till you see the absolutely KILLER c itron yellowish/olive one that's shown there in the posting! There is absolutely NO damage on this bottle, and it's in EXCEPTIONAL overall condition with a decorative unfurled scroll design on the front panel. The applied disc lip is fat and PERFECT.

The embossing is VERY strong and well pronounced and there's quite a few nice bubbles in the glass as well. But since this isn't a dug/tumbled example, there is just a slight amount of very minor and expected wear and a little bit of wispy haze which is barely noticeable. A very light pro cleaning would be all that you'd need.

But I personally like to keep my bottles all original if it can be helped and I feel it's good to go and "display/shelf ready" just the way it is, which is why I never bothered to have it tumbled. Sure, if it was all mineralized over with heavy ground stain, then that's a totally different matter altogether. But to me, it's looking awesome just the way it is. However, once it's yours, then it's your call to make.

Height is 10 1/4 inches. BEST of LUCK to you! Got a minute or two to spare? Then have a look at my other listings (right now I don't have anything else listed, but that's sure to change very soon) and remember to keep watching for more.
