Rare Clear Straight Side Center Script Coca Cola Bottle, Syracuse, Ny Near Mint

RARE STRAIGHT SIDE SS COCA COLA CROWN TOP BOTTLE, SYRACUSE, N. COC A- COLA SCRIPT and BOTTLING CO. REGISTERED is embossed on the heel on the front of the bottle. On the back side on the heel is 7 FL.

The bottom is embossed with the number 236. Rarity - listed as R in Porters Coke Bottle Checklist. Condition: NEAR MINT - no chips, cracks, or repairs.

This is a non-dug, top shelf example that is ready to display when it arrives. The only issue on the bottle is a light wear line on the body and a wear line around the lower part of the top. There are a couple nice large bubbles inside the base and a few small bubbles running vertically down the neck, none are open. P lease look at the photos carefully to see the pristine condition of this bottle.

Dark purple is not a natural color for these bottles and is caused by irradiating older bottles. The older Coke bottles had manganese that will turn the bottle dark purple when irradiated. There are some naturally occurring bottles with a light amethyst/purple or pink tint - leaving them out in prolonged sunlight (SCA) will darken the tint but they will NEVER become a Dark (Blue) (Black) Amethyst.
