1800s Ship in Bottle from Shenerock Shore Club Rye, New York-Nantucket
This is a four masted coastal schooner with lighthouses, church, numerous houses going up a hill and a windmill. It is flying an American flag. And this was old when he bought it. This was displayed at Shenerock Shore Club for many years as he founded and owned the club and then came home to his mantelpiece for decades until I got it. Great condition with just some flaking of the background paint outside the bottle on the back.
This also has it's own stand included for display.. My antiques and fine jewelry store I started in 1974. I also started The Stumble Inne Bed & Breakfast when I bought 109 Orange Street on Nantucket Island the same year thus becoming the youngest innkeeper in the country at 21. I had my store in nine locations in 42 years even having three stores for awhile.
