1823-1833 Pontiled Lynch & Clarke Olive Green Saratoga Ny Mineral Water Bottle

Scarce and early pontil Lynch & Clarke New York pint mineral water bottle dating from between 1823 and 1833. 1 with the larger ampersand. Bright see-thru light olive green at top, getting darker towards the bottom where the glass is thicker. Blown at the Mount Vernon NY glassworks, this bottle once contained mineral water from the Congress Spring in Saratoga NY. LYNCH & CLARKE NEW YORK boldly embossed on front; Improved pontil base; applied double collar lip. Shiny nice but has a hard to see 3/4 bruise on the lip with a pinhead size flea bite on top edge of lip; no other damage. No stain or other problems.

It has never been tumbled, and there is no high point wear. Lynch and Clarke are the earliest embossed Saratoga bottles. This is a great looking bottle with bold crisp embossing and nice glass!
