Mid-19th century william pond "knickerbocker" cobalt bue multifaceted soda water bottle. The 10-sided iron pontiled bottle retains the original oval-shaped "blob" lip applied on a squat and tapered neck. Trace amounts of iron from pontil rod evident on the base. Samuel smith (also of new york) produced a soda water around the same time with the same name. Very few of these bottles embossed with the merchant's initials are found.
