NO CHIPS, NO TRUE CRACKS, NO OPEN-BUBBLES. There are No other "Issues" what-so-ever, with this great, scarce and early Saratoga Type Mineral Water Bottle. I got this bottle, last summer, from an Old, friend, and antique bottle collector / dealer in Massachusetts, who was vending at a local antique sale, and this prized bottle had long, been in his personal bottle collection many decades! The "Clarke + White" Saratoga-Type Mineral Water Bottle, was used to bottle the lovely Mineral-Rich, delicious, naturally effervescent, ground-well water, of the "Congress Spring" in Saratoga New York. These Bottles were made as early as 1850, and are usually "smooth-based" and are seldom, seen with a "Pontil Mark" on the base of the bottle.
Images are from the Incredible Antique Saratoga-Type Mineral Water Bottle Reference Guide, by Donald Tucker, which was updated a few years ago, to add many new bottle-mold findings, aas well as color pictures. The Text Shares the History of the "Congress Spring" of Saratoga New York, and the sequence of the early / antique bottles, with various embossings, that were used to bottle and market the mineral waters from that Spring.
