This knife is in good condition for the age. Knife shows good snap on opening. Handles are in good condition, the front handle has a few cracks, I had to overexpose the photo to be able to see them. Blade shows wear from use and sharpening Blade has some discoloration. Brand: New York Knife Co Hammer Brand. Features: Clip blade, brass liner, large nickel silver bolsters, nickel silver ornate shield.

About this company: The New York Knife Company was founded in Matteawan 1852, and has produced some of the finest knives in the industry. They moved to Walden, New York in 1856, and began using WALDEN on their knife stampings.

They started using the muscular arm HAMMER BRAND stamp in 1878, and continued using this stamp until they went out of business in 1931.
