Offering the very scarce, two volume boxed set of "THE ART OF CHINESE SNUFF BOTTLE, The J & J Collection", written by Hugh Moss, Victor Graham, Ka Bo Tsang, published by Weatherhill, New York, 1993, First Edition , each bound in back cloth covered boards with handsome red stamping to spine and cover, cased in a black cloth covered board slipcase. 794 pages combined between the two volumes, with 484 works of art - most of which are snuff bottles, but some related works as well - examined and illustrated in great detail. Beautifully photographed, with extensive scholarship, bibliography, and index.

Illustrated throughout including endpaper artwork by Peter Suart. Chinese snuff-bottle enthusiasts have long known about the J & J Collection , which belongs to Julie and Jim Li and which is the subject of this book. Some of the bottles from this early collection (a full list of which is given in the index) were exhibited in Havana in 1945 and in Santiago in 1968. 260 bottles areshowcased in Volume I and 483 bottles are showcased in volume II, all of which include photographs by Fernando Chaves. A most scarce volume to complement your collection, or to serve as that very special gift.

Condition is very good, both volumes appear unused. Tight and square bound, all boards and case tight and firm, bright clean pages with no markings, chips, tears, creases, dog ears, repairs or restorations. Spines are sunned, slip case shows wear - please view photos. Photos are considered to be an integral part of the description. Many of my items are vintage and they naturally show wear from age and use.
