Antique Balsams Dairy Half Pint Milk Bottle Brooklyn New York. The address on this bottle is 712 Hendrix Street Brooklyn.
Based on news paper archives from the Brooklyn Daily Eagle this address is associated with one Abraham Balsam. Perhaps this person is related to Isaac Balsam who according to Wikipedia, started the first Chalav Yisrael dairy farm on the East Coast, and possibly in the United States.
While Isaac's dairy farm was known to have operated in Ozone Park, Queens it is likely that there was a relationship to this bottle. The last picture is from the Brooklyn Daily Eagle article dating to September 23, 1932 where the article refers to both I Balsam and A balsam which is either a mistake or an indication that this bottle was somehow part of the large Isaac Balsam Dairy operation. About 5.5 inches tall and dating to around 1930 or so, possibly the 1920s. Check out the pictures to see all of the embossing on this bottle as well as the condition. In dug condition with NO damage but some wear and staining.
