A stunning heavily embossed 1850s cure bottle in a pale aqua/ blue, embossed on 3 panels: Genuine/ Sands Sarsaparilla/ New York. Measuring 10 inches (25cm) high with a highly whittled appearance & a sharp open pontil base - no flakes coming off the pontil whatsoever.
The bottle has not been messed with/ cleaned in any way & the colour depicted is accurate (Photos were taken outside in natural light - sorry about the reflection) Ive collected early food bottles, cures, hamilton patents & goldfield era food bottles for years but im sorting out some doubles I have over 20 17. (ShovelandProbe website coming out soon). It is in Attic Mint condition - overall a great example with great crudity & whittle & heavy embossing. No dings, cracks or other defects.
& they don't detract from the bottle at all. All bottles are bubble-wrapped & boxed for piece of mind - ive never had a breakage, & my feedback hopefully speaks for itself.I collect: early hamiltons, food bottles, hair bottles, food bottles, Hartwig Kantorowicz variations, Dr Townsend variants, sealed cognacs, liqueurs, embossed black glass.
