In 1915 Luyties trademarked a perfume called Frivole. According to one French dictionary the word means one who has a taste for vanity, futility, is inconsistent and superficial in his tastes or attachments. Some have said that was a pretty reasonable description of Herman Luyties himself.

Condition: the underside of the stopper lost a thin bit, as pictured, not a display issue at all. Outside neck has a scratch, as pictured, but the next picture, inside the neck shows that that is all it is, a non penetrating scratch. This is a fantastic perfume bottle by René Lalique. It was designed circa 1915 for LUYTIES. It's a highly detailed piece and it is.

However there are marked and unmarked versions of it, seen in two sizes: large 7" and petit 3.5". This listing is for the larger version. The bottle's intricate design has a satin finish, the label medallion reads: "FRIVOLES LUYTIES" and is embossed. The bottle stands approximately: 7 tall.
