Dr. Townsend's Sarsaparilla Albany / N. Y

TOWNSEND'S - SARSAPARILLA - ALBANY / N. Y Blue Green, 9 ½ x 3 in. Iron/Graphite Pontil, Applied tapered collar Mouth/Lip. Nice example of the Dr. Rich glass color going darker from top to bottom.

Has all the crude characteristics you like to see in a Townsends. Full of Whittle, Stretchmarks, Bubbles with a killer oversized top and a heavy pontil. Residue on the pontil is very thick and pronounced, looks to be Graphite but very well could be Iron. No damage just a couple areas of honest wear namely on the Townsends and Albany N. I included two photos (#4, #5) of the highpoint wear area(s).

The area(s) would probably respond to a buffing wheel if you so desire. The bottle appears to have a very slight taper from top to bottom, very unusual mold, one I have not seen before.
