Dr. Townsends Sarsaparilla Albany New York Olive Amber Pontil Bottle Cure

Here we have an olive amber blown in mold/applied lip sand pontil bottle embossed on one panel Dr. Townsends, embossed on a second panel Sarsaparilla, and embossed on a third panel Albany/N. Bottle is 9-1/2 tall and 3-1/16 square at the base and is in good condition with a few light scratches but no chips, cracks, or other damage.

However, parts of the bottle have a thin film on it that gives it a slight splotchy external haze; this film may be remnants of some past coating or perhaps some sort of mineralization but acid and paint remover do not work so Im just not sure. It does scrape off but this is not a practical way to remove it.

A very quick tumble would remove it and the bottle looks to be effectively perfect besides this. The E and second N on Townsends are embossed pretty lightly.

The final L in sarsaparilla is also pretty light. Overall a nice early sarsaparilla bottle. A real beauty when backlit! Message me with any questions.
