Up for sale is this Very. Rare Bottle that was used to hold DERMALINE by E & H T ANTHONY & CO NEW YORK. As far as I can tell this was first advertised in 1875. I have included a copy of the advertisement in the photos above.
The chemical contained was a cream to protect the hands while developing Wet Plate Photography as well as many others. In raised lettering from the mold is from top to bottom "DERMALINE"... E & H T ANTHONY & CO... The oval shaped bottle has some normal manufacturing small bubbles/marks and is in great condition. No chips or cracks not even a flea bite.The bottle is about 2-1/4 inches tall and the base is about 1-1/4 inches by 1-3/4 OVAL. The lip of the bottle is 1-1/4 inch in diameter with an opening of 1 inch. There is a small amount of dust in the bottom.
The bottom is smooth and the glass is clear. The photos are part of the description and represents the actual item well.
