This is an extremely rare John Eberhardt pharmacist from New York from the Civil War era to about the 1870s. This is a once in a lifetime chance to own this practically unknown early NY pharmacy bottle. "JOHN EBERHARDT / PHARMACIST / NEW YORK" in an embossed slug plate Circa 1860 - 1870s. It is a wonderful early American handcrafted bottle and the condition is exquisite. When I say this bottle is beautiful, I mean exceptional.
When it is in the sunlight it shines beautifully, and in a dark room it still finds a way to appeal to every audience. There is almost little to no interior staining and the bottle is pretty clean and in stellar condition. The embossing is nice and bold, and has a wonderful look to it.
The top is hand finished, and overall it is an exquisite early American New York pharmacy bottle! There is a very minor chip on the lip, a super minor base bruise, an odd bubble on the shoulder, but it does not actually appear to be open! All are shown in the photos and are not easily seen without a magnifying glass.
There is also some white paint on the base that can be easily removed. That was from the previous collector keeping it off market for the past 70 years!
