RARE ANTIQUE GREAT BEAR SPRINGS N. This is an Antique Great Bear Springs Five Pints Water Bottle from the late 1800's. Legend has it that the father of Hiawatha met and vanquished a large bear. Exhausted and in need of water, he went to a spring known to his tribe.

The warrior gave thanks to the god of water and named the spring Mishemokwa meaning great bear. The bottle measures 12 inches tall (including original stopper) x 4-1/2 inches diameter. Bottle is embossed on front: / GREAT BEAR SPRINGS / / TRADE MARK / /FULTON.

Bottle is numbered 2 on the bottom. This bottle is beautifully clean with no chips or cracks.
