Rare Original 1880's GILBREDS IMPROVED (Star) JAR Fruit Jar Lid Wire Bale

Rare Antique Original 1880's GILBREDS IMPROVED (Star) JAR Fruit Jar with Original Glass Ramped Lid and Wire Bale. Lid is embossed as follows: Gilbred's Improved Jar Cap, Jamestown, N. This is determined to be a 1/2 Gallon Jar - Holds approximately 54 Fluid Ounces.

It is Aquamarine Blue Green in Color. It measures approximately 8-1/2" tall (from base to top of jar with no lid or bale), 9-1/4" tall (from base to corner of bale), 5-3/8" outside diameter base, 5-3/4" (edge of wire bale to edge of wire bale) on the base. Condition: Previously owned and used. There are no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. There are some minor chips/roughness where the lid fits into the top of the jar. There is age wear and rust/oxidation on the wire bale. There are striations in the glass, air bubbles, bubble pops, etc. Please view photos as they are part of the condition.
