Scarce Rubicon Perisphere perfume bottle with Bakelite Trylon stand from 1939 NY World's Fair! Do you collect perfume bottles, Art Deco, or items from the 1939 New York World's Fair? Well if you do, this is one of the scarcest perfume bottles you will find.
Rarely does this dramatic Rubicon perfume bottle depicting the NY World Fair's Trylon and Perisphere come on the market. Rubicon was on Fifth Ave. In New York City in the 1940s where they launched various perfumes, starting with this one in 1939, but I could find out very little about the company itself, which doesn't seem to have been in business very long. The beautiful Bakelite and steel Trylon stand is 1" x 1" x 3½" high, and holds a ¾" x 1 textured and fluted clear-glass perfume bottle with chrome-plated-steel Perisphere-inspired top.
When unscrewing the top, there is still a strong smell of the original perfume but the perfume itself is long gone. Both the perfume bottle and stand are in excellent condition with only some very minor nicks on the Trylon spire and Perisphere top (see photos). The amber-colored Bakelite base is in phenomenal condition with no nicks, cracks or chips. Don't miss out on the chance to own an exceedingly rare and sexy perfume bottle from the height of the Art Deco era. It will be quite some time before you'll see another, especially in this condition. This includes restrictions on any internet or website display, usage or transfer. Please check your country's import regulations if you want to be informed about any additional charges that may be imposed on your package when it arrives. Only approved electronic methods will be allowed. The item "RUBICON 1939 NY World's Fair PERISPHERE TRYLON perfume bottle BAKELITE & CHROME" is in sale since Sunday, July 30, 2017.
