Small Whitall Tatum & Co Philadelphia New York Clear Museum Specimen Jar w Clamp

This listing is for a rare WhitallTatum and Co. Hand-blown glass museum specimen jar. The jar dates from between 1870 and1890 and is hand-blown soda lime glass. The glass has natural imperfectionsincluding a few small bubbles and slight waviness in the sides of the glass dueto natural thickness variation. The bottom of the jar is pontiled. The topflange also has a slight fold where it was attached to the jar body. Lip of the flange is ground glass as seen inthe pictures. The lid of the jar readsWHITALL.

TATUM & Co PHILADELPHIA NEW YORK. The lid also has one small hook from which a specimen could have been suspended. Lid have nochips, cracks, clouding or damage. This jar includes the metal screwclamp to hold down the lid of the jar.

The clamp show signs of rust but arestill entirely functional. The dimensions of the jar are. 2.4 inner jar diameter. 4.0 height without lid. 5.5 height with lid.
